Outhouses were an essential part of any farm yard, any small town in the bad old days. And thanks to their unique function, they were the butt of many jokes. Get it? Butt? You can’t avoid them. So they’re in Once Upon An Outhouse. For example...

A prairie pioneer got sick of sitting in a cold outhouse on a cold slab of wood during the winter so he came up with a plan. He’d take spare newspapers with him to the outhouse, light them afire and drop them down the hole. After they had burned for awhile, he’d sit himself down on a nice warm seat. That was the plan anyway. One night as usual, he lit his newspapers, threw them down the hole and sat down for some quiet contemplation. Suddenly, however, his bottom got way too hot and he realized he’d set the whole building on fire. Pulling up his pants and trying to throw snow on the fire at the same time didn’t work. The outhouse and the attached chicken coop burned before his eyes.

The others in the household were not amused.

And many more of the same....Hallowe’en trick or treats, two tier outhouses, school biffies, speeches from the throne, etc.
